Cutting Through the Bark of a Tree

If you're looking for the strongest and longest plant fiber for your DIY rope, most inner barks of trees have it. The Western red cedar, for example, has long stringy fibers that you can make into several feet of cordage.

To get Rope, look in the Abandoned Camps, Cannibal Camps, Cave Entrances, Graves, Boats, and the helicopter crash site. Also, walk along the shores for a chance to find jetsam pieces of Rope. In Sons of the Forest, Rope is a respawning item scattered around the map. Players are not guaranteed to loot it from chests.
