No one knows where Nasi Goreng originates from. Some suggest it was from Southern China (chow fan), other from Islamic traders (pillaf) and yet others suggested it arose independently due to need. Nasi goreng is a neat way of using up leftover rice in a manner that decreased the risk of food poisoning (left over rice is a great medium for the incubation of microbes). It may even be that the Indonesian version came from a source that was different from that of Malaysia. However, the oldest documents that mention nasi goreng come from Indonesia. The main difference between Indonesian vs Malaysian nasi goreng is the time of day it is eaten. In Indonesia, nasi goreng is a breakfast dish. This is why the Indonesian version is lighter, has fewer ingredients and is almost always topped with a fried egg.In Malaysia, nasi lemak takes pole position as a rice dish for breakfast. Nasi goreng is a very popular standalone meal for lunch or a simple dinner. Thus the dish is normally accompanied with fried chicken, or grilled fish, or satay etc....The other difference between the two dishes is the use of kecap manis (caramelized soya sauce). In Indonesia, I have never had a nasi goreng without kecap manis. In Malaysia, its is about 50:50. Meaning 50% of the time a stall will use kecap manis.Other than this, there is no standardized version of nasi goreng in Indonesia and similarly no standardized version in Malaysia. Even the chili forms used will differ in each country, where one stall will use chili paste, another sambal belachan and yet another fresh sliced chili.

Eating eggs raw is not abnormal in Japan. However, in most foreign countries, eggs are not eaten raw. This is because there is a high possibility of food poisoning by eating raw eggs. It is said that quality control in the egg production process is strictly required in Japan, and that there are few bacteria that cause food poisoning on eggs. The term TKG is spreading worldwide. Tamago Kake Gohan, Raw Egg on Rice. Recently, it has become a hot topic that it is causing a boom in Hong Kong. TKG is considered to be one of the most representative menus of Japanese cuisine, however, the cooking method is too simple to be called Japanese food. Hong Kong even imports eggs from Japan. It is good that Japanese people who eat raw eggs are not seen as strange in the world, and that they are accepted by foreigners as a food culture.#TKGjapan #eggonrice #raweggs #tamagokakegohan #japanesefood #washokuegg #japanesefood

Why the Japanese eat Thailand rice? This is 7 pm in the countryside of the rising sun. That paddy fields will be harvested soon. This humid night, the air smells very nice. The harvested rice will not be eaten or processed for regular table rice. Japanese rice is the world's most expensive and top quality, so it will be made into either Japanese Sake or vinegar! Just like any Japanese, I buy and still eat Thailand or Vietnam rice as it is cheaper and taste similar with the rice in Batam or Singapore. It is more profitable for Japanese farmers to sell their rice to brewery and Sake makers. The Japanese alcoholic beverage are made from fermented rice. I like the sweeter Amasake which is lighter and noncarbonated, perhaps may vary about 4 to 16 percent of alcohol.

February 3 is Setsubun, which means "division of the seasons", the day before Risshun, which means “the beginning of spring”.Since it was believed that evil spirits arose at the change of seasons, events to drive them away have been held since the Heian period (700s).Generally, people sprinkle "mame" (roasted soybeans) while shouting "Oni wa soto, f*cku wa uchi" (demons are outside, good fortune is inside), and eat as many beans as the number of people of their age to ward off evil spirits. It is said that the word "mame" means "demon destroyer", and so people came to wish for good health by throwing beans at demons to drive away evil spirits.Soybeans are a versatile food product and are one of the most important ingredients in Japanese cuisine. For example, Soy sauce, Tofu, Miso and Kinako.Kinako is roasted soybean flour. It is used in various ways in Japanese cooking, especially as a coating for Japanese sweets. It has toasted nutty aroma and is slightly reminiscent of roasted peanuts.EIRICH CleanLine is capable of granulating and coating soybean four. Do you know any country that has better food than Nigeria? For me, Nigerian foods are not talked about enough! From it's unique taste, the aroma, the beauty, the richness/quality and the nutrients it gives. I was talking with my two roommates a few days ago about different foods and how we have a lot of interesting food in this country. We began to call different rich and delicious foods that are from our side; the ones we have not eaten and the ones we have eaten, mostly Igbo foods and soups. It then dawned on me that I am yet to explore foods in my country and I added it to my to-do-list. I don't know when it will happen😂 but come rain come sunshine, we must explore foods. I started to imagine how many dishes other cultures might have that we are even yet to access or talk about. It made me realise how much God has blessed my country and the people living in her. The dishes we mentioned on that day included but not excepted to: Ukwa (breadfruit), groundnut soup, oha soup, onugbu soup, nsala soup, vegetable soup, owerri soup, yam and oil (red oil with ukpaka, utazi leaf, pepper, onions, salt), nkwobi, ukwa and corn, abacha................ feel free to add any food that is not mentioned here.I would love to hear about your favourite foods; please share them with me in the comment section. Let's imagine it in our head and enjoy them together there till we start our journey into exploring food😂.#day45of50daysofwriting #50daysofwritingwithpeculiar #personalbranding #contentcreation #linkedinforcreators #food #nigeria

Okpa (Bambara nuts cake).Okpa the greatly loved delicacy of the Nigerian people. This food is one of the special and respected delicacies of the Southeast of Nigeria. It is believed that it’s owned by the Enugu people as they happen to hold the secret of making a tasty okpa.Yet there is still this strong argument among the people of Enugu on who makes the best okpa. Some highly believe that the Udi people makes the best okpa while others disagree and say the best okpa is found in Nsukka. But let’s leave this argument aside and talk more about the food itself.Okpa is a delicious meal that comes with a natural taste and sweetness.A great meal to addto you breakfast menu as it’s highly pretentious and light. You don’t have to break the bank to prepare this food all you need is,The okpa seed (grinded)Palm oilSaltPepperAnd waterAnd you are ready to make this amazing delicacy. You probably be wondering what a meal cooked with just these basic five ingredients listed above tastes like, but trust me when I say, it’s one of the most delicious meals you do ever find here in Nigeria.
