The Temple of Fire Ateshgah (literally the Fiery House) is located 30 kilometers from the center of Baku, on the south-eastern outskirts of the Absheron Peninsula. • Excursion to Yanardag. Next to this small village on the Absheron Peninsula is Mount Yanardag. The word “Yanar” in Azerbaijani means “burning”, and “Dag” means “mountain”. And this is a real burning mountain - not metaphorically, but literally. Once on Absheron there were many places where natural gas coming out of the earth to the surface ignited spontaneously, but with the start of mass production of oil and gas on Absheron these places began to disappear. • Departure to Ganja
• Drive to the National Park. To see the beauty of one of the largest lakes in Azerbaijan - Goygol - was the dream of every citizen of the country. For two decades, it was not easy to get here: the lake was closed to the public and was under state protection in Goygol park, hiding from prying eyes behind the mountains surrounding it. The whole territory of the Goygol reserve is divided into parts by deep valleys, along the bottom of which flow the rapid rivers. Lake Goygol located here, which, by the way, gave the name to the park - the largest and most beautiful mountain lake in Azerbaijan. One of them is Maralgol, the next one on the route of tourists visiting Goygol. It is about seven kilometers to go to it, but the road does not tire at all, as it runs through a picturesque forest. Coming out to the edge, it remains to descend down to the lake, where mountains, forests and the sky with high clouds are reflected in the clear water. Swimming in Maralgol is forbidden, one can only admire and photograph this beauty.
