Blue Mage Job Guide for FFXIV - Endwalker 6.45 (2024)

Blue Mage is a Limited job that falls under the caster DPS role. BlueMage has a very unique design compared to other jobs in FFXIV. Rather thanlearning new spells while leveling up, Blue Mage learns new spells fromdefeating specific monsters. Because it is classified as a Limited job, ithas some restrictions on playing with others. However, this also means thatBlue Mage is very flexible and capable of playing as all three major roles,those being tank, healer and DPS. Before discussing this in greater detail, it'simportant to understand what the Limited job restrictions actually are.

These restrictions mean that Blue Mage gameplay operates veryindependently from the rest of the game and is its own game-within-the-game.Since it is restricted from doing certain content, it also means it is freefrom some restrictions and able to do things that other jobs cannot do. Blue Mage has its own set of exclusive content through the MaskedCarnivale, has achievements for completing content synced with full partiesof Blue Mages, and is also how players can obtain the Blue Mage Job Guide for FFXIV - Endwalker 6.45 (4) Morbol Horn,allowing players to summon the Morbol mount, as a reward for completing aset of Savage raids as a party of full Blue Mages!

Blue Mage can be unlocked once you have reached level 50 on a Disciple ofWar or Magic job and completed the main scenario quest "The UltimateWeapon." Once these requirements are met the quest "Out of the Blue" isoffered by Zealous Yellowjacket in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (x:9.9,y:11.0). Completing this quest will reward you the Blue Mage job stone andallow you to play as Blue Mage starting at level 1

The point of Blue Mage is that the job is, in the context of the series as a whole, very well known. It'd be kind of odd not to have Blue Mage, but it's hard to make Blue Mage work in the context of the game because of how it's designed.
