Art Museums

The Museum of Apoxyomenos, established in 2016 near Kvarner Palace, was built to showcase the Croatian Apoxyomenos statue. Visitors are provided with plastic "slippers" which must be worn throughout the museum. The museum features several rooms before reaching the main exhibit hall where the statue is displayed. Guests are closely monitored by staff to ensure that no photos are taken or physical contact occurs with the statue.

At first I was sceptical because the entry ticket was 15 euros, but now I can say that it's total worth it. The whole museum is a concept with different creatively built rooms that are a work of art on their own. Yes, the museum has only one sculpture but the rooms guide you to towards the sculpture, each offering a piece of information about the finding of the sculpture and the years long restoration process, which culminates in a fully white room presenting the restored sculpture beautifully. While Apoxyomenos would've been lost in some large museum amongst other artwork, here he shines, as well as the insanely well executed restoration work.

We were very pleasently surprised with the museum. You get plastic "slippers" you need to be wearing around the museum. There are a few rooms to see before you get to the room with the statue. When you get to the statue, you are escorted to the room by an employee who is in with you since you are not allowed to take photos and, of course, touch the statue. At the end, you can buy the souvenirs.

Danijela J — Google review

A must do if you are visiting this part of Croatia. The museum itself is worth a visit just for its design. The exhibit and its story is fascinating even for those who have no interest in statues. Please do go and support this gem.We visited in early May, no queues.

Tim H — Google review

Very good and interestingly processed exposition. Beautiful and relatively young preserved find in our history.

Zuzana — Google review

Unique and well worth a visit, especially for those interested in classic Greek sculpture and a fascinating recovery and restoration project. Tour through this one-if-a-kind museum is a fine experience.

Rich G — Google review

Although the entire museum is build around one statue from antic Greece it has plenty of content worth seeing. I definitely recommend it. Price of a ticket is 10 euro.

Vedran R — Google review

It is almost unbelievable that the museum has succeeded so well to elaborate the story around its only exhibit. By entering the museum, the story of Apoksiomen slowly grows to the final culmination when you come to the grandiose statue. However, the statue can only be seen through the opening but it is still worth to visit museum and see this attraction.

Loke E — Google review

Expensive museum for just one statue. But it is special, worth visiting.

Boštjan Ž — Google review

For a one theme museum, they exceeded a Lot in their delivery! It was Beautiful, with amazing constructions of the rooms.

Must visit while around Losinj Croatia. Over 2000 years history in breathtaking story or finding this ancient athlete! Great exposition and setup. Modem meets ancient. #airconditioned

Jiri M — Google review

Modern Museum with great and stylish storytelling (after several informative rooms, you'll finally meet Apoxyomenos in a white room/no photos allowed in there). Visited the site on a rainy day bit I'll recommend it to every visitor of Mali Lošinj. Audioguides and family tickets available. More information on the website.

Roman K — Google review

Thoughtful and high level well designed entertainment interior of the museum. The whole museum is dedicated to solely one archeological finding of old Greek sculpture. It is situated in the small city of Mali Loshinj. Interactive knowledge experience and more.

Dafina D — Google review

Wondrous experience, factual, informative, stunning, and amazing historical find. Would give a 10 🌟 . Worth a trip to Mali Losijn. Great vibe night life. Awesome church and beach also.Side note to ferry riders:If you get to Port, don't get a taxi immediately, go to little unassuming bar to the left . The owner was a sincere beautiful woman who didn't like tourists to get ripped off. I saved 30 E by walking a 10 minute walk. Stay have a drink. True croatian hospitality! You won't regret it.

Lili H — Google review

Museum is worth visiting! Its amazing! So much work made! Detailed information on the exposition, security, extra shoe covers, English subtitles everywhere. Great experience!

Irina S — Google review

This award winning museum located in grad Mali Lošinj features a magnificent bronze statue of Apoxyomenos who was discovered in the seabed near the island of Lošinj. The first, cool and darkened section of the museum set the scene by representing the temperature and look of the sea floor where Apoxyomenos was found. There were interactive information displays detailing the origins of Apoxyomenos, his discovery, being recovered and raised from the sea floor, painstakingly restored and repaired and an analysis of his construction approximately 2000 years ago.As one progresses through the Museum it becomes apparent how significant a find this relatively well preserved specimen is.Eventually, as you ascend through the floors, one finally catches a glimpse of Apoxyomenos himself.Reaching the top, majestic in his climate controlled room, you are finally confronted with the mighty ancient Greek athlete.Definitely worth a visit. Allowing him less than an hour is an injustice.

Čikat Aquapark is a family-friendly park that offers a variety of activities for both children and adults alike. Among the attractions are thrill slides, water jets, and splash pools. The park also features a bar and spa treatments for those looking to relax. One unique aspect of this aquapark is its use of saltwater in the pools. However, visitors should note that additional fees may apply for sunbeds and lockers.

A beautiful and well kept water park fit for kids and grownups of all ages. Plenty of shade and relatively cheap entrance fees mean we’ll be back here for sure. The park offers a fast food restaurant with solid options and a great pool bar, where you can grab a beer in the pool while the kids are enjoying themselves. The bathrooms are very clean, as is the rest of the park, and the staff is very nice across the board. There is free parking near the entrance to the camp, a short 2 minute walk from the entrance to the actual park. The tickets are purchased at the park entrance so no need to wait at the check in counter for the camp.

Daniel L — Google review

Nice adventure area for kids .. different pools with different attractions.. surprisingly with sea water .. one star missing as the hygiene and security is not perfect - better keep a close eye on kids .. entry is free for guests staying at cikat camping

Evi N — Google review

Clean and well kept campground. The beach is mainly rocky, with a section of beach with gravel. Good contact and service.

KW W — Google review

Good aquapark, you can easily spend 2-3 hours with kids. We went during workday, after lunch, was not crowded. There is restaurant there, gym, change room, showers, etc. You need to pay for sun lounger (13 eur). Best fit for kids till 12y.

Viktoriia P — Google review

The park was ok, not great not terrible (3/5) little stuff not much to do but i liked the saltwater pools. They lost another star because the pool literally has a hole in it and i hurt my foot (in America they would get sued for it but Croatians are normal). But main bad point is the price… make the entrance 80kn per person instead of 130kn and i give you a 5/5 for the price/quality 😎

Marin R — Google review

Fabulous and fun! Kids had a fantastic time at the park. Waterslides were great and kids loved the kids park as well. Hours of fun! Sun chairs and umbrella also very reasonably priced.

Melissa D — Google review

Great place for kids!Very clean, good food, safe stairs to the slide.Reasonable price 🙂

It's a just normal nice waterpark, I've enjoyed my time there but it definitely isn't something special.

AMAZING!(That's what my kids told me to say)Arrived at opening time, 10am, only planning to stay until lunch time, however, we stayed until 3pm.The kids had a blast, the parents had fun too, a very, very well run facility.Sun lounges and umbrellas available for hire for a small fee upon entry.NFC wrist bands supplied for each patron including a 'master' wrist band that enables you to access a secure locker to stow your valubles etc, purchase food, drink, ice creams, beer (and other alcohol), coffee etc.Multiple pools catering for all age groups, a swim up bar you can make purchases at with your wrist band, and very satisfying freshly made lunch options.Clean, modern showers, toilets and change rooms.Very clean, clear pools and overall a well maintained, tidy facility. An excellent value family day out.

Tomi J — Google review

Very good and clean camp, nice places, super aquapark. We were satisfied.

Petra K — Google review

We spent 2 weeks in cikat camping and visited aquapark quite a few times. Great place to spend a good time with your family.

Damian S — Google review

Really nice! Deserve a visit if you are with kids in the area. The camping have lot of space, and incredible shadow. We thought was too big but was a really enjoyable stay in the camping have free entrance to the park.We also have lunch 2 days in the swimming pool bar, as is not so expensive.Really nice!

Rakel G — Google review

Very nice aquapark with salt water. What surprised me was that apart of entrence fee, or in my case included in the price of camping, there were additionally paid sunbeds and lockers. Also most od attractions mentioned are not so fun as described. For a week I havent nicticed auaqaerobic or dance classic. So this was very much dissapointing.

Vew-Do R — Google review

First, the pros. The people were very helpful and friendly. And the equipment was nice and in good condition. It was also more affordable than nearby dive centers. However, it is so unfortunate that the actual dives were so poor! We did two dives, both wall dives that were pretty short and uninteresting. There wasn't a lot of life and it was just boring. We ended coming up with tanks still half full and plenty of time to spare.

Zavratnica Bay is a hidden gem on the Croatian coast, nestled at the foot of the majestic Velebit Mountains. Accessible by boat or via a rugged hiking trail, this 900-meter-long inlet offers crystal-clear blue waters and stunning views that resemble a Mediterranean fjord. The highlight of this bay is the easily accessible sunken ship, making it perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts. Visitors can take a scenic path along the sea from Jablanac to reach this picturesque spot.

Amazing. The highlight is the sunken ship that can easily be accessed as it is right next to the coast. Definitely take snorkeling gear to enjoy the experience. To access the site you need to take a path next to the sea that should take some 15min from the town. Almost at the end of the path there is a hut where you will have to pay for a ticket (5€ per person) and shortly after is the ship.At the bay/beach there is a bar, bathroom and some beach chairs. Several trees around so finding shade won’t be a problem.

Marcio M — Google review

One more amazing place on Velebit and this time it is on the sea. Pictures will show it so I do not need to write too much. It is easily reached from Jablanac walking by the sea.

Tonko L — Google review

Amazing place to visit if you’re vacationing near this area!! 10/10 would recommend

Annamaria P — Google review

It is stated to cost 30 HRK, but we've met no-one who ask for it.You can go down on foot from the viewpoint that is Southeast from the tip of the valley. It takes about 25-30 minutes and you can park your car at the viewpoint you have to walk back from the viewpoint roughly 3 minutes and the turn left, through harsh rocky sights for about 5 minutes, then there is an easier path after. There's toilet down there. You really should not forget your gopro in the car as I did :)It is really beautiful and not really colder, even though others state so.

Norbert M — Google review

Inga K — Google review

Jakub M — Google review

Wow bring some swimming goggles, this underwater sunken ship is incredible, super touristy area though with many large boats polluting the water

Charlie G — Google review

It's very beautiful and path is good but it costs 30 kuna per person if you go by the sea. Maybe there is an alternative route but we weren't able to find it.

Rūta P — Google review

Magnificent view and paradise for the heart and soul

RME P — Google review

It is NOT free if you walked from Jablanac! There is a paying post before canyon, 5 eur/person, including child. ONLY CASH, so be prepared. In the bay the water is colder and we did not see any fish in shallow water. However the underwater ferry is amazing, fishes everywhere around it so definately worth to see and snorkel here (no offical place to reach it, you can swim there from bay or just jump to water). If you are lucky there will be no rude yacht crew in middle of bay, screaming and jumping...

My top beach on Rab... parking within close hotel Eva (30 hrk for whole Day), cristal clear water, sunchairs available (20 hrk/Day), there is a lot of natural shadow from threes... very clean, beach bar close by, there is also toilets... Recommended!

Jan L — Google review

Really nice beach with cristal clear and blue sea 😍😍 perfect for a nice swim and also good for short snorkling. There is a nice beach bar with tasty co*cktails. Parking is near, but you need to pay daily ticket. Near the beach are also tennis courts.

Zrinka J — Google review

Nice enough beach, not lots of sand as typical of this side of Rab but water is beautifully clear with lots of marine life.

Dan ( — Google review

There is actually no Suha Punta beach as I realized. It’s a sequence of nice beaches along the rocky shore, with a few small stone beaches in between. There are also two big resorts, one abandoned and the other one fully functional. Due to their presence, there are a lot of concrete and stone structures representing beaches, stairs, benches, etc. Nice and adventurous experience with a cool beach bar for the coffee after.

Very nice view. Island Rab had one of my best holiday ever.Little crowded, I prefer for example Beach Sahara.

Norbert K — Google review

Beautiful sandy beach in the island of Rab, infront is a small island that you can cross with a bike boat. There you can do some snorkeling with your sport camera 📸The difference between Jesolo Italy and Lopar, the people in Lopar is not so friendly. The restaurant waitresses are friendly, but the little stores who selling swimming products; they never smile, they never want to ingage ( connect ) with the customers. Unfortune I think, they supposed to attract more tourists, but their behaviour I feel it "not polite".Do I want to go back to Lopar?Yes, I think besides that the stores owner or supermarket not friendly; Lopar is very beautiful ❤️ the food is good 👍PS : The chairs and umbrella 🏖️ cost €19,50. You come to the beach, choose which one that you like to sit. Later on come a guy with little machine, you pay him, you'll get a receipt 🧾

The area offers a wide variety of outdoor activities such as cliff diving and exploring wild beaches. With its clear water beaches and diverse orchids, Kamenjak is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike. Gorgeous place. This is a national park with a lot of spots too swim and chill or do a nice hike between bushes

Pretty "wild" peninsula; with hard rocky/gravel roads, and stone beaches with, sometimes, difficult entrance to the sea. The safari bar has delicious food and benches with a great view to spend time with your company.

Andra? N — Google review

Nice place to visit, specially for snorkling. Possibility to go in cave! I can definitely recommend!

Eric P — Google review

Really nice park. Very peaceful and beautiful.Only one suggestion: close the entrance to cars are as they are damaging the vegetation along the tracks. And maybe have a mini bus system to get the people to the main spots...

Amina E — Google review

It has been an experience. If you plan to come at the main season- avoid!Local currency Cash only at bars. (Which doesn’t matter, there is a ATM nearby 😂)80kn fee for the car.The water quality is moderate. The roads and all vegetation along are white from dust… I like to drive that roads, makes the car funny dirty. The area is hopelessly crowded…If you like adventure and many people and cleaning your equipment- come. If you like to relax - look for another place.

Silvio M — Google review

Very nice park. 15 euro fee for one car for one day. Easy to buy a ticket online with car plate number. Be aware, very rocky roads. The park has access to numerous small and big beaches with their own charm. By car you can reach almost all the beaches with a small walk.

J L — Google review

Don’t even think to get there by bike. It was a horrible experience. All paths are full of rocks, it’s really difficult to ride a bike here. All beaches were full of people. It’s impossible to find a place. Bars don’t accept cards. When we reached Safari bar we realized that it makes no sense to continue looking for a good beach. We decided to go back. There were lots of cars on the road and we were going through the white dust which is everywhere. I don’t understand why people are going to this place. Other beaches are the same but not as crowded as here.

Alex K — Google review

Jakub ? — Google review

I must admit, it is an interesting area to visit. But definitely not for swimming and sunbathing.First off all so called "beaches" are very rocky, and the few sqm that you have available in perhaps a handful of them are packed. Even there the beach is not sandy at all but more, earthy/muddy.Secondly, 15 EUR entrance fee is way too much for what you get.

Dimitris G — Google review

Dog friendly, because of all the paths and nature. No trash bins and very dusty from cars. I wouldn't allow cars in Natural Park, go green or go home. You can tell they only care about $$$ once you buy an entrance ticket nobody tells you to keep the receipt till the end, to be able to exit the park, and they could at least give you a bin bag so there wouldn't be so much trash everywhere. Keep it wild and go by foot or with bike like we did. 😉

Travel B — Google review

It was cool. We pulled up here with our big body benz. Then we met some crazy guys from Slovenia who were jumping intoxicated.

Jaka P — Google review

Nature and see are great, but a rocky road needs to be fixed. It will be great to have a better sign for a famouse rocks you can jump from into the see.

Martina K — Google review

Even though the car ride is a bit long, it is completely worth it in the end. Could spend weeks here and explore a different "beach" (aka wild beach) every day.Great for adventurists and privacy-loving people, but also if you like sitting in bars and hanging around other people.

We took 4 min boat taxi , 30 kuna return ticket/person from Liznjan coast. It was nice sand beach with 3 restaurants. We took our own umbrella and seats, however it looks like people are take them at the island and no body care, at least we did not see anybody was charged :) Due to I can no confirm if it was for free. The prices in island restaurant (Grill Bar) are not too high compare to continent. It looks like there are night parties during the weekends , however it is subject to confirm by local people.

The first impression was good, but after that, it was a huge disappointment. By boat, it took us three hours to get there, we were happy to be able to rest a bit, but the sight was a disappointment. There weren't any shady place, there were just "sun beds" to stay on for three hours, but it was way too expensive. There were also inappropriate things, like garbage, and other things.. After a while, it was very irritating and disgusting

Fantastic sandy beach and clear sea..the best later in the day, 18-21..when not so many people..beautiful sunset.. Great grill restaurant, friendly staff..be prepared for a safari ride(bumpy non paved road) for about 10 min on your way to the shore, where you will take a small boat across.. Great adventure all together!! Must visit!!!

Natasha K — Google review

The island itself is nice but poorly organised. Sunbeds occupy the whole beach, which ruins the wilderness of the island, the bar is nice but plays very loud music. If you are looking for a peaceful island, I recommend to go to fratarski otok instead. The taxi boat is a joke 😅 with questionable drivers.

Jessica M — Google review

The island is cool, unfortunately a bit overcrowded and definitely better on the photos or leaflets. In real I wasn’t that impressed as I thought I will be. Nice to visit but if you skip the trip it’s fine as well.

This 550-hectare protected natural area is home to a variety of rare bird species & their nests.

It’s my favorite beach in Cres. Landscape is scenic, beach is small but surrounded by mountains and crystal blue water. You need to walk 10-15mn to go down from the parking but can be done easily as you will walk on roads. To climb up it’s 15-20mn but nothing too hard. The advice is to go early as it could be quickly crowded during high season. Bring an umbrella and enough water as there is no shade.

Sea is really beautiful, crystal clear green water with amazing view on cliffs, the only downgrade is that the beach is not pebbles but heavy rocks so I recommend shoes for water. And one more downgrade is that the place is full of wasps and hornets so be preppared for that.

Outdoor Activities

The best thing of Cres Island is the hidden beaches. Mali Bok beach is one of them. Although it is quite challenging to reach the beach, but it is really worth the effort. The beach is located below the cliff near Orlec village and the car parking is above the cliff. It is free. From the village, we still head to the beach, the road was quite small. To go to the beach was easy but to go back to the car was super tiring. The walk-path was super steep and long, at least we walked for 20 minutes to the car. Make sure to wear shoes if you go there. Bring water and food. The beach itself was amazing. The water color was crystal blue. Although the water was cold when we were there (the end of August) but we still swam. There was no shade, so beware with the sunburnt. We spent on the beach in the afternoon so it was not that hot. We enjoyed our time there.

Hani H — Google review

Great cove to swim and jump from cliffs into the crystal clear water. Sadly it is very tight so you'll have to cuddle up to the neighbors. Waves are low enough for kids and even next to the cliffs is not a big current. You will see many different types of fish, vultures, and other underwater dwellers. The walk back up is intense, so save some energy. Parking is available at the top of the cliff.

ImpGimp — Google review

Our adventure here started with two bikes 15 km away from Mali Bok, we were in camping.Definitely the long road (and not an easy one) worth the view when we we approaching and also breathtaking when we arrived. I would go again anytime.

Elena A — Google review

Beautiful beach with crystal clear sea. It can be reached by a steep road, about 10 minutes walk, so the ascent is a little harder but it is definitely worth it.

Very beautifull. Was at winter whit my girlfriend. You are alone there at winter. Peacfull, just noise of sea and croatian garbage which sea throw out on the beach. There is also usefull things is not all garbage. I found a kid toy and a woden plank which l took it. My girlfriend was scared when l was driving down to the beach which path is closed at the summer because of many people at summer. Recomend to all to go there :)

Marko B — Google review

Absolutely amazing beach. The only problem is that you have to hike 20 min form a steep hill, we couldn't get there with a stroller. But it's worth the effort, what you'll encounter in the end is breathtaking

One of the most beautiful beaches i have ever visited. You can leave your car on the parking at the beach after the cemetery. Then there is a narrow road with a steep ascent|descent to the beach. Take some water.

Trapan Wine Station boasts 12 hectares of environmentally friendly vineyards. Its flagship red wine, Nigra Virgo Revolution, is a top seller while Ponente is the vineyard's Malvasia wine aged in acacia barrels. The winery's modern architecture designed by Bruno stands out in the rustic countryside. It is recommended to have personal transportation or access to reliable taxis when visiting Trapan Winery, located east of Pula in Sisan.

A Hidden Gem of Warmth and Excellence of ISTRIAWe had the pleasure of visiting Bruno and Irene's winery during our recent trip to Croatia, and it was an experience I'll cherish forever. From the moment we stepped onto their property, I was greeted with the warmth of their hospitality and the enchanting presence of their 24 dogs. The wine tasting journey was nothing short of magical. Each bottle not only carried a rich history but also a depth of flavor that spoke volumes about their dedication to natural winemaking. Learning about their transition from industrial wine to their private vine house was both inspiring and eye-opening.What impressed me the most was their commitment to producing wines free from chemicals and oxides, ensuring not only a delightful taste but also a refreshing day after indulging. Their home, adorned with modern design elements and immaculate upkeep, was a true reflection of their passion for excellence in every aspect.Thank you, Bruno and Irene, for opening your hearts and doors to us. Your winery is more than just a place to savor exceptional wines—it's a sanctuary of warmth, authenticity, and genuine hospitality. I eagerly look forward to the opportunity to return and bask once again in the beauty of your vineyard and the joy of your company.Really recommend to visit

Truly family run winery with friendly and relax atmosphere. The wine tasting was excellent. Organic and natural for both traditional and experimental Istrian wine. The cold cut and cheese platter was sourced from local artisans and paired beautifully with the wine. Highly recommend.

It's a rare to come across wines where the true essence of the grapes shines through. We've experienced this once in Slovenia, and now for the first time in Croatia. This winery was a revelation – from its scenic tasting place to the exceptional products. But what truly sets it apart is the heart and soul behind it, Bruno. His passion and dedication are palpable in every sip. Congratulations on crafting such outstanding wines. We'll undoubtedly return, having found our new “the one” winery. Highly recommended! Our top picks: Uroboros and LUKALUNA.

Only for people who charish the taste of wine as it once was in all its beauty and grace. And the Trapan Family reminds us of this pristine tastes. Drinking their wines is exploring the genuine taste of each grape they grow. It is a journey one wishishes it would never end. Thank you, Bruno.

This was the most incredible experience I’ve had at a winery! The wine was absolutely incredible and Bruno and his staff welcomed us like we were family. Trapan’s Syrah Moia, one of the top 100 Syrah’s in the world, was by far the best wine I’ve ever had. It is truly the perfect wine for any occasion. If you come to Pula you absolutely have to come here! I cannot recommend it enough!! You get to look at the beautiful dogs while enjoying unique wines with the most amazing flavours that you can’t experience anywhere else!

Sveti Ivan Beach

Beach

Outdoor Activities

Sveti Ivan Beach is a secluded and stunning destination surrounded by lush vegetation, making it one of the most beautiful beaches globally. It offers unparalleled amenities such as a luxurious bar and restaurant. The turquoise waters and verdant wilderness of Krivica create an enchanting natural beauty that attracts many visitors each season. Accessible via a steep trail, this unspoiled beach is perfect for those who appreciate nature's power but requires visitors to bring their own supplies due to the lack of facilities.

For those who enjoy hiking this beach is the best of both worlds. You get to hike + swim afterwards. We had so much fun, it was worth every step of the way. The water was so clear you can see every single pebble, the beach had maybe 10 people, so you have plenty of space. There were some boats but they didn't stay too long. Take good shoes for hiking, plenty of water, and if you don't want to sunburn, a lot of sunscreen and a tent or a parasol.

Marjana B — Google review

Breathtaking. I felt free as never on the top!But very stressful road up. Suggest to go by motorbikes or bicycles, because you won’t fit two cars on the road. Watch out for your tires 😀

Mi?el K — Google review

Loved it!!The hike to the beach isn't very steep at the beginning but later on there are some parts where it is pretty steep and can get slippery. My gf and I wore regular sneakers and we found that to be sufficient (hiking shoes are not mandatory, and we some some folks in flip flops). It took us 45min in both directions, and for us it was probably easier to go up. As for the directions, the signs are always visible and are easy to follow. At the beach, there's shade in the boundary areas but it's limited, so have that in mind. Also, bring plenty of water and enough food since there are no shops or bars down there. You can refil your water in the town of Lubenice, once you're back up.

Matko R — Google review

Wonderful beach, was there end of June so it wasn't crowded. If you're going on foot, wear proper shoes and bring water.

Jelena ( — Google review

Absolutely stunning beach! The beach is clean, made of pebble stones, the water is crystal clear, transparent, swimming in such an amazing place (you are looking at the town of Lubenice on the cliff is simpli breathtaking)! It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to reach the town of Lubenice after leaving the main road. The path is narrow, surrounded with stone wall. So pay attention. After entering the town a big parking is on the left and the beginning of the hiking trail (that is - path to the beach) is located near the coffee bar.The signs along the path are very well marked. It takes approximately 1 h downhill and 1.5 h uphill. The upper part of the bath is throughout the woods so if has a lot of shade but some parts are a bit slippery (stones) so hiking shoes or sneakers are obligatory!!A wonderful experience on Cres.I visited on a cloudy day, the water was freezing but the experience is unforgettable. ❤️

Diana D — Google review

Awesome beach. Definitely worth a visit. Easiest way to get there is by boat. The hike from Lubenice is quite daunting. Make sure you bring a lot of water and food as there are no shops on the beach. The hike is quite difficult, not for children and mostly on sun. You can park your car in Lubenice. The remote location ensures that the beach is not crowded. Very good place for snorkelling. There is no shade on the beach so make sure you have some sun cover. The beach is made of large pebbles so bring some soft throw. We will definitely come back if we visit the island again.

Daniel H — Google review

Beautiful beach with an amazing 1 hour down and 2 hours up hike. If you are visiting it on foot, take comfortable shoes, and prepare yourself for a very long walk. Do not go on your flip flops, trekking shoes are ideal but you'll be fine with sneakers. Remember to take water, you'll need it. Specially on your way up. It was perhaps my best experience while in Cres.

Nuno S — Google review

Unspoiled nature (yet) that is highly appreciated by those who know never to underestimate the power of it!••TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU**Steep trail but worth every step once at the destination. Not for unfit and foolish “flip flop” hikers unless with unlimited health insurance! And yes, there are no facilities whatsoever at the beach WHICH IS PERFECT!That means, (if needed) take food, PLENTY OF WATER, and hats!!!It’s 1hr downhill and 1,5hrs uphill with many breaks! I admire those who do it faster :)UNMISSABLE PLACE and yes it’s FIT FOR CHILDREN if you are geared up properly-they will cherish this memory for a lifetime 💚

Natalija R — Google review

Lubenice is a small village on Cres island, Croatia. Built on the cliff overlooking the coast, it is a remnant of the past with its old stone houses. To reach beach, there is an steep downhill walk on a hiking trail.

It’s absolutely a beautiful beach for visiting and spending a day there to enjoy the sun and the sea. There is only a little shop there for selling the ice cream and drinks. If you are planning to spend long time there, it’d be good to prepare some food. Otherwise, no complaints at all. The water is limpid and can do snorkeling.

If you would like to spend a few night here in a tent, you wont regret it.The staff are nice, the price is okay and the place is beautiful. Very close to the nature, outside of the city.

G?bor L — Google review

Spectacular beach with nice views! Surprisingly cold/warm water - odd phenomenom during snorkling (blurred vision).

Dušan S — Google review

Beautiful cobble beach, the water is clear and very cold. There's a public parking (5kn/h) and a private parking (10kn/h or 30kn for the full day). The machine to pay the public parking only accepts coins, you can also use cards but for some reasons it didn't work when I tried, and the display is broken so it's almost unusable causing long waiting queues.

Devid — Google review

This is our favorite beach in Krk. The colors were obsolutly amazing. Water was realy clear but also cold. You can take a trail to see the other beach near it. Parking available, private and public. There is also a beach bar. I sugget to visit it!

Nicoleta D — Google review

Nice beach and the surroundings are also very nice.At the time of visited it wasn’t crowded so turned out to be a peaceful place.Water is very cold and clear, but there is some type oil on the surface.Prices at the bar, as has become common across Croatia, are high.

Marcio M — Google review

One of the best beaches on Krk Island that are easy reachable on foot. Gorgeous white pebbles with a turquoise sea. It is also well known for underwater freshwater springs which makes the water a bit cooler in this bay than in some near bye. Unfortunately now it gets crowded which was not the case 10 years ago.On the right side, the cliffs are perfect and easy climbed jumping spot.

Jure Š — Google review

Crystal clear cool water. Nice beach with drink and snack kiosk. Must pay for parking. The one near the beach is the same price for full day as the machine up the hill. Can get crowded

Specialty Museums

The Nehaj Fortress, constructed in 1558, is now a museum and hosts an annual medieval festival. Positioned on a hilltop, it offers a scenic view of the city and sea. The castle boasts well-preserved original geometry that can be admired from outside as well as within its walls. A restaurant and parking facilities are conveniently located near the fortress. Visitors can enjoy walks along its paths despite dogs usually not being allowed inside such buildings.

Beautiful view of the city and the sea. When we went there the land was dry and the wind was so strong that it blew gravel at us.The wind literally chased us, as it was so stormy we couldn’t get to the side where the door was.The castle from outside is well preserved in its (I guess) original geometry.

Aur?lie V — Google review

Worthy to enter if you are in Senj, but I would not recommend driving more than 30minutes to get here if you plan it from nearby towns. There is a nice view but nothing more than that.

Micha? J — Google review

The view is marvelous from the bottom of the fortress and from the top! The fortress is in a brilliant condition. Tge space seems to be used for events. It tells the story of the region. The displays of costumes are very good as well as the types of the used weapon. Information is in Croatian, English, German and Italian. Very easy access and good parking.

Nelli M — Google review

We spent some hours around the fortress in early September 2021.It definitely offers a lovely view from the hill and a restaurant as well as parking spots right beside Nehaj. We didn't go inside the fortress, because we had our dog with us (usually they're not allowed in such buildings, but we can't say for sure for Nehaj), but walking the paths around the fortress also was time well spent.

shibachen — Google review

Definitely worth a visit if you are heading to Senj. The fortress is very well maintained, given it's almost 500 years old and the military artifacts on display inside are well presented and documented. Great views too over Senj and the neighbouring islands from the roof viewing areas.

Mark G — Google review

Closed unfortunately when I visited in February, but it has stunning views of Senj and Krk island. So its worth visiting just for that. The castle is in decent shape. Can park at the top.

Paul H — Google review

Great place to visit and have a lunch at. Really significant historical location for Croatia that is well explained and beautifully presented inside the fortress. A must in my opinion if you are in that region. Of course, the view from the top is amazing and there is a well equipped children playground some 100m from the fortress.

Petra K — Google review

Nice place to visit. Views from Nehaj Fotress rooftop is great, also form windows inside as well. Entrance tickets are within good range of prices. Restaurant is nice. I really liked that Fortress kitchen atmosphere. Tomato soup and pancakes with jam and chocolate where great.

The opening times could be longer so watch out for that. The ice cream not of Swiss quality but okay. The location is fantastic and I enjoyed being there a lot.

Marc H — Google review

Nicely reconstructed fortress, with great view. Free parking just next to it (around it), though easily reachable on foot from marina. On the ground floor there is also coffee place and restaurant (took pictures of the menu, but did not eat there). Entry to the fortress only paid with cash, in the restaurant possible with card also.

Konrad M — Google review

Lovely place to visit the downside the owner smokes inside the castle where the food is prepared and was a turn off 👎🏻

Marianna B — Google review

Good place for a short walk, you can park right next to it, i couldn't find the road though. You can see what women and men wore back in the day, some really nice guns, they even have old necklaces, rings, swords ex. The only thing that bothers me is that they made it like restaurant which is kind of not really what's supposed to be. The ice cream is good though.

Ki A — Google review

Really nice and well rebuilt castle with a great view at Senj and the Bay Area. Also the included Museum give a lot and interesting information about the past and the former “pirate” owners of the castle. It’s worth the €5 per person.

Jens C — Google review

Nice old fortress located above Senj. The view is amazing. There is a parking lot. In the fortress is a museum which can be accessed for a small fee.

Matej — Google review

Senj’s landmark that can be seen from far away driving towards the town. There is sufficient parking right next to it (gravel, can ve quite dusty). You can find a restaurant here (Konoba Tvrdava Nehaj) that is open everyday from 10:00-24:00. There is lots of tables outside with shade, but it’s still very hot during the day. Entry to the castle is 5 eur for adults, 2 eur for children, 10 eur for families. Nice views as well. Definitelly check it out if driving through.

Aljosa T — Google review

Nicely preserved castle. Worth a short visit if you haven't seen several other castles. In the evening you can visit the restaurant inside it, with no entrance fees.

Ron F — Google review

It is a very nice and educational place, where you can learn about the history of Senj. You can go on top of the fortress and enjoy the view. There is a restaurant and it's not expensive. There are a lot of walking paths around the fortress and one of them leads to the kids playground.

Movie Bar is a popular spot in the Labin-Rabac region, known for its great co*cktails and evening entertainment. The bar offers reasonably priced drinks, with an average cost of 5-6 Euros in 2019. Nestled among pine trees, it provides natural shade and a beautiful view. The atmosphere is relaxed, with lounge bar seating and just the right music volume. It's a cool place near the waterfront where you can chill out with a beer or co*cktail while enjoying smooth music.

Cool place near the waterfront but with plenty of shade to chill out at. Coffee was good, we also had some nice naturally flavoured water (mint, lime), and the waitress was nice.

Its the only place with real shade.Nice trees give a good protection.Ambiance is perfect, directly situated at the promenade and view over the sea.Good drinks for reasonable prices.BUT waiters seems to be nerved having guests around. Prefer sitting at their table instead walking around. If you order sonething it is like, "ok, If you really want i will do it".. .

Nice, shady bar that's great for an afternoon break from the sun. Relaxed atmosphere in the evening as well. A large range of reasonably priced drinks are available (Beer ~€4.50, co*cktails €7-8). It's located about one kilometer north of Novigrad on the Istrian coast. The beach offers crystal clear waters but can get crowded during summer. There are also other nearby beaches like Lanterna Beach and Karpinjan with environmental care initiatives.

Beautiful crystal clear water! A lot of people though during the summer so it can get difficult to find a nice spot to relax. Bring cash if you want to do the water activities! We wanted to pay with card since we only had euros and were declined.

A lot of gravel and rocky beaches with amazing water. A lot of bars, hotels, restaurants, tourists...it's got everything for everyone whether you're a couple, family or other. Overcrowded, but with a lot of parking spaces. PQ2.

Nice Nice, all is close...restoran and beach bars. Beautifully landscaped beaches 🏖️

Very good hotel in calm and beautiful place. Grate work of landscape desiners and staff

Alena D — Google review

Awesome beach resembling a playground with multiple activities and places to jump or slide into the water. The beach bar of the hotel is also quite nice with a good selection of drinks. The rock formations are also beautiful.

With its colorful architecture reminiscent of Rovinj and a rich history dating back to the Bronze Age, Labin offers stunning views of the Kvarner Gulf and the coastal resort of Rabac. AQUARIUM CRIKVENICA

Aquarium

Zoos & Aquariums

Straightforward place exhibiting Adriatic & tropical creatures from angelfish to moray eels.

Our kids enjoyed it very much. It is not very big but it has a nice selection of fish and other aquatic animals. I really liked the small sharks and tropic section. If you like fish it's a place to go. Really fair price of tickets

Mario F — Google review

The aquarium isn't very large but it's an great experience to see these magnificent creatures that live in seas and oceans of this planet.Learn for yourself and teach your children to appreciate this life that is so unknown to most of us, yet so undervalued, easily exploited and destroyed.

Tomislav — Google review

Fantastic! Wide variety of colorful fishes. They even have a little alligator and some reef sharks! I really recommend if you are in the area, so many emotions ❣️🐠

Natalie S — Google review

Very friendly staff, and a great variety of species for such a small place, the kids really enjoyed it. A giant minus goes to the shark tank: they would deserve a much bigger space, this is simply cruel! The place seems to have been unchanged for the past 40 years, only some touch screens and the A/C can be labeled as "innovation" since then.

Kriszta P — Google review

The Aquarium in Crikvenica offers a fascinating glimpse into Adriatic marine life. With a diverse collection of fish and other sea creatures, the exhibits are well-maintained, providing clear views of the marine species in their natural habitats. Overall, the aquarium in Crikvenica is a must-visit attraction.

Amarnaath K — Google review

Last week we visited the aquarium, the kids were enjoing it immensely. The staff are really kind and helpful. The size of the shark's tank must be a torture for them indeed, but they surely deserve it (no! in this century either give them enough space or don't hold them in this cruel captivity condition).BTW, I unethically reported my little son's age younger than he is just to spare a couple of kunas. Please, give us the business IBAN number, I will pay for the proper kid's entrance fee or even more to help to improve the situation.

Zoltan P — Google review

Its a cool see, but i have seen better. The price might be a bit expensive for what youre able to see, its quite a small space but i still loved the experience. Its a good "adventure" when you know you wont miss the money you spent on it :)

Patricija T — Google review

A place to go if you want to witness animal abuse with your own eyes and pay 24 euros for it. These poor animals barely have any room to swim or move. It's extremely devastating to see. No living creature deserves to live like this.

Lama A — Google review

Very positively surprised. We expected it to be a smaller aquarium, but this one is quite large and you can see a variety of fish. Really nice aquarium, well maintained and clean. The entrance fee is not too expensive - for what it offers, the price is equal. The kids were very excited, and also we. At the exit we also bought a souvenir that reminds us of the great experience in the aquarium. Staff is very friendly, smiling, helpful. All praise also for such a nice attitude towards customers.

Diana M — Google review

A small aquarium, but for the price of 8 euros per adult, I think it's ok. Worth a visit

ŚpiacyBaca71 — Google review

The aquarium is a bit small, but it is great. They have many fish species, some smaller sharks as well, and the info cards were really informative. I definitely recommend visiting when you are in Crikvenica, especially since it is located in the city centre.

Diana M — Google review

Good place, it is a bit little, but there are interesting fishes and sea animals. The entrace ticket is 8 euro, I would say it is worth to visit on a rainy day. My favourite was the medusa aquarium.

Balázs F — Google review

Quite a few interesting inhabitants of the local sea (and some others as well). It's rather compact but still worth it if you plan to spend more than 2 days in Crikvenica.

Wojtek W — Google review

Depressing experience. Fish are cramped into tiny tanks. Some look visibly sick. Shark tank is miserable, absolutely no enrichment for the sharks. There's one massive fish stuffed in a tank only twice it's size with a depressing environment. The fish should be given away to better equipment aquariums and the place closed down. Disgraceful. Might be somewhat enjoyable for people who don't know anything about sea life or animals, but at the end of the day it's a cruel and miserable place.

Morgan H — Google review

The children were very pleased with the visit. Lots of fish with beautiful aquarium interiors. 30-min visit and then a lot of questions for the parents about the fish. This is how it should be so that children receive new information and explore the world. Thanks!

Igor S — Google review

Small but very interesting and nice aquarium. There is possible pay with euro, kuna or card. Air condition inside. Dogs allow...

Mr. M — Google review

From the outside inconspicuous, very small. The little one really wanted to get in, so off we went. The price is reasonable, it is also cooled in the rooms. You see different animals and can read the names in several languages - very helpful. Because that's still some there, which one did not know at all. The layout is good, you have to go up or down several times due to the narrowness of the building, but the visit was still worthwhile and we were satisfied. Is worth a visit if you are in the city anyway and found it during a stroll.

Marc R — Google review

Price is okay for what you can see there. But Animals are stored in small aquariums. Didnt have a good feeling watching animals stored like this.Lot of people so its hard to move around.

Outdoor Activities

Pebbly tree-shaded Adriatic Sea beach popular with families & close to tourist facilities.

A beautiful place that is worth a visit, even if for just a couple of days. Come early and enjoy the good weather. There is lots of options for eating and drinking around here, but it is recommended bringing some snacks and water.

Holy S — Google review

We spent a pleasant time under this Spring-like temperature, soaking up the sun and enjoying blue skies, especially now that it is not crowded as during summer. Kids are enjoying their fun park.

Miroslav J — Google review

Wonderful and beautifully landscaped beach. It is covered with tiny pebbles. The sea is clean. There is a lot of shadows on the beach. There is also a city beach with a sand, but it is payable. There are many restaurants with good food and lots of bars and souvenir shops. Is very suitable for families with small children. On the beach is also a wonderful playground.

Diana M — Google review

It's a city beach, but a nice one, coverd with sand and pebbles. There are chairs in one side, but you can also lay your towel or beach tent. There are nice playgrounds. To avoid the stones from the shore, you can get into the sea on the pier. There is also an elevator for the ones with disabilities.

Roxana B — Google review

Loved it! At popular time may be a little bit crowded, but usually it is very comfortable and clean. Also there are parts where mora sand than rocks which was perfect for kids.

Julia M — Google review

I've been there in November, after the tourist season. There were no tourists there. It was very silent, calming. Beautiful views!

Anamarija B — Google review

Nice beach, unfortunately there is no free shower.

Grzegorz — Google review

There are CLEAN stony and sandy beaches too, bars, sun beds for rent. Shower for 2 kuna, toilette for 3 kuna. Adventure elements: parasailing, speedboat-towed-"donut", ship tours.

Very nice beach with mixed sand and rocks. The best thing is, that after you enter the sea through rocks, there is bug area of pure sand you can stand on, that is perfect for playing games inside the water.

Biserujka is an underground cavern characterized by stalagmites and stalactites, occasionally utilized as a performance venue. The route to the cave may be winding and narrow, but it is navigable. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by friendly and attentive staff who accept only cash in Croatian kuna. English, German, and Croatian language options are available for the guide-led tour of the short yet charismatic cave, which last approximately 20 minutes in duration.

The road to the cave is a bit winding and narrow, but it is possible to come. Once you get there and park your car you have to walk a bit and you are there. The staff is very nice and helpful. You can only pay in cash in the local currency so do not forget to take Croatian kuna. The guide speaks English, German and Croatian. The cave is quite short, but it has its charm. The tour lasts about 20 minutes. I recommend.

Maciej P — Google review

A smaller but very beautiful cave. Guided tour is possible only. The price is 6€ per person, a tour of about 60 meters of the cave is available. Teh cave is nicely lit, you can see many stalactites. The temparature in the cave is around 15 degrees. It is also suitable for children. The tour lasts about 20 minutes, the guide told us many things about the cave. I recommend a visit if you are on the island of Krk.

Diana M — Google review

A nice cave to visit but entrance fee of 6€ for this small cave is too much. There are nice hikes around the area though.

Xterra P — Google review

Small but very nice cave, very interesting guided tour in 20min (entry 2 times every hour)

Attila H — Google review

we traveled to the island by boat. it takes approximately 10-15 minutes to climb to the cave. the ticket price is acceptable. the cave is shallow, about 100m long, but beautiful and interesting. the temperature is 10-15 degrees. the guide is very kind, and her presentation is clear and interesting.

Danijela B — Google review

Rather short. Would not recommend if you expect an extensive cave system, but for young kids it’s sufficient and accessible.

Martin M — Google review

The cave visit takes about 10-20 mins and is quite beautiful. The location is pretty and has free parking. I felt the entrance for 6 euro for such a short tour might be a bit too much.

Gaurav R — Google review

CALL THEM EVERY TIME before you go.We came here and have to wait 1.5 hours because they have schoolgroups - nothing was said about this when I asked for info a few days ago, specifically to make sure we can just come over. Must be nice otherwise, I will not find out now in the end :).

Nola F — Google review

The cave is small, but it is worth seeing. Due to the frequent visits of school groups, I recommend that you check by phone whether it is possible to enter the cave, even during the week.

Kristijan M — Google review

Beautiful cave, the only one on the island of Krk open to tourists. The cave hides twenty-eight animal species, two of which are endemic, one is endemic. Also, long ago in this cave lived cave bears, an extinct species, whose remains of bones can be seen at the entrance to the cave. The cave itself is a little more than one hundred meters long and is not demanding, it is suitable for visitors of all ages.

Dora L — Google review

Very beautiful place. Caves are very old. Must visit when you are coming to Krk island. There is a free car parking available near the caves. You can park there and walk about 300-500 meters to the caves. You can buy tickets at the counter Directly. There is also a tour guide available for free and he or she explains the details and history of the caves very well. Nice place to visit.

MIHIR S — Google review

The tour guide was enthusiastic and did an excellent job, making the experience informative. Perfect for escaping the heat, with the cave consistently maintaining a temperature of 12 to 15 degrees.

Colin T — Google review

Nice trip, short but highly interesting. Tour guide takes time for questions, beautiful scenic walk to the cave. Can go with kids large and small. (Side Note: explore around the area for other small caves and inlets.) bring a camera as there are tons of various species of butterflies, beetles and other insects. You should bring sturdy shoes diente surroundings and cave itself, as it can be slightly wet inside after rains.

Dennis W — Google review

Great experience. The tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. The cave itself is albeit small very interesting and cool to see. Was worth the car drive there. And you can also buy bundle of tickets for aquarium and terrarium in Krk or Baška. If you are anywhere near definitely visit.

Kučić V — Google review

Nice little stalagmite cave, takes about 15-20 minutes to go through. Cool 15-17 degrees inside, perfect for cool down in the hot summer. 6€ for adults, 3€ for kids 12 and under.

For urban place like this its pretty clean

Dejan N — Google review

Although it has a large selection of shops, there are a large number of empty spaces. It makes their opacity even more difficult, so looking for some trades or shops is a real adventure. It should be marked on each floor where exactly what is located. Luckily most saleswomen are extremely kind so in the end you find what you are looking for.For a shopping center of such size and attendance, it would be necessary to renovate the toiletsI don’t remember the name of the store, I bought a Liu-Jo bag and a pair of gloves, the saleswoman had a constant smile and a whole host of my requests didn’t hinder her in kindness and true professionalism.

Trsat Castle, a 13th-century fortress located on a hill above the city, offers stunning views of the Rjecina River valley, docks, Adriatic sea and Krk island. Originally built by Frankopan dukes of Krk, it was restored in a romantic neoclassical Biedermeier design in 1824 by Irish-born count Laval Nugent.

it’s a bit of a hike to get here, but it’s absolutely worth it! the castle is beautiful and has great views and opportunities for beautiful photos. (it’s also free, which is always nice) very cool historical sight. i reallyrecommend the restaurant that’s in the castle.

Regan W — Google review

Sweet little castle (not too big). Nice people, you also can enjoy some drinks in the middle :) Getting in and onto the tower is for free. From the tower you can see whole Rijeka! 👍🏼We were there on a Saturday and simultaneously it was Victory-Day in Croatia. Yet it wasn't too full of people :)We liked it there. Around the castle there are also many little cafés, bars, a winebar and ATM.We got hungry and went to "Pizzeria Pampas" (5min walk from there). Really good pizza and with a good service. If you go to Trsat Castle do yourself a favor and wear nice clothes :D Everyone is dressed up there.

Alper D — Google review

A beautiful castle well maintained, we came from Rijeka by foot and had to go through a long staircase which made it more interesting also. The castle itself sits on a high place overlooking the sea and the city of Rijeka. Great place to take nice pics but mostly to learn about the history. You can access the crypt and can grab a drink at the bar (it was closed when I was there though). I highly recommend spending an hour or so checking this place out and enjoying the beautiful views.

Simone U — Google review

Beautiful walk up to a stunning place with views over the entire city. The walk to the top will make you feel dead and alive at the same time! Loved the bar within the ancient ruins of the castle. Drinks are cheap and service friendly but slow given they are so popular. The surrounding town is quaint and cute with views over the whole of rijeka, really stunning place to catch some sun, culture and a drink!

Sophia B — Google review

Totally worth the trip. If you're driving there you should know that there's no dedicated parking lot but you can park by the road on the way up. The views from the castle are breath taking and they have a lovely cafe in the castle and several before the castle. During the week it's not crowded but there place is not big so it probably gets crowded on the weekends.

Vitali H — Google review

Beautiful Castel and the view is worth the hike. The cafe/bar inside is fantastic. Great music and best martini I’ve ever had and for only $5 euros! Highly recommend.

Lucy D — Google review

From the bottom to the historical old town we journeyed to the steps. It was amazing to take in the views has we climbed the over approx 32 flights of steps around 580+ steps. The temps were cool with a light misting rain helped.

This was my top place to visit in Rijeka. It did not disappoint. The weather was absolutely, blue skies! So interesting to see this beautifully kept, Medieval Castle. The information lady was very helpful. Afterward, we enjoyed a nice cappuccino while looking at the beautiful view of the city, and Adriatic Sea below us.

Lyndi R — Google review

A challenging walk up loads of steps from the town. Fabulous views, not only a castle, an amazing church and monastery. We'll worth going and no entrance fee.Not much information, but a lovely cafe in the castle.

Colin K — Google review

Nicely decorated at Christmas. :-)A picturesque castle above Rijeka with panoramic views. The entrance fee is free and the whole courtyard is a bit of a café center. You can park a short walk from the castle. But if you walk from the sea like we did, be prepared for some stairs.

M. H — Google review

It's a magnificent castle. From center many stairs that can be a bit challenging to climb, but the view from the top makes it all worthwhile. Inside the castle, there's a restaurant, and the only negative thing is that I was hoping for a slightly larger one.

Aybars A — Google review

The place boasts a stunning view of Rijeka, complete with toilet facilities and a lovely bar. My wife ordered a Caipirinha (a Brazilian drink with cachaça), and it tasted just like the original. There are plenty of outdoor tables offering the same breathtaking view. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there; it's perfect for taking great photos and to simply sit and relax. I Highly recommend it.

Adrian G — Google review

Fantastic! Great views and free public toilet and nice bar. You can access the famous pilgrimage stairs. Really worth visiting

Tammy F — Google review

Nice Castle to explore. They also have a cafe where you can have coffee or something to eat and just enjoy the view. There is no fee to visit and it wasn't busy when we visited a week ago (April 15).I highly recommend to visit this castle.

Paulicarus tends not to review ruins etc. But having got the No2 bus up for a whole 2€ each we popped in. No entry fee and great views. Took photos with Madge, Norma and Liza....and it is a castle with a bar! ( wake up and take note English Heritage.) Easy walk from bus stop. If I was still fit I would do the 570 steps up from below. Got to 50 yesterday and said "stuff this."

MADDOGLEP — Google review

Probably the best observation deck in Rijeka. Very cozy place. There is a fair there and very beautifully decorated for Advent.

Pavel — Google review

Geniya T — Google review

No enterance fee. The view from the tower is really nice. I've read some reviews where other tourists reached the castle by stairs. There is another route from where you don't need to climb stairs

Greavu C — Google review

We stumbled upon this by chance and it was worth it. This is also a small castle but it was worth the stop, and the views were amazing.

Shannon L — Google review

Really many stairs to get up to the castle. Probably you need around 35’ from city center up to castle, all the way being just up. The castle isn’t big, but looks pretty well maintained and you can see everything around.

Marius C — Google review

Taking somewhat couple of hundreds of steps going up there to the castle worth an amazing view on Rijeka. Castle isn't big but its nice and was free to enter. Inside there's the Cafe where you can have cold drinks or beer or coffee with a spectacular view on the city and coast.

Maiden with the Seagull is an iconic statue located in Opatija, Croatia, symbolizing the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Erected in 1956, this picturesque coastal town offers a unique experience with stunning architecture, charming promenades, and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea.

Symbol of city Opatija. Beautiful sculpture with a dove in her hand. The best view is from a ship.

Opatija je poznana po svoji dolgi obalni promenadi – sprehod po njej je posebno "wellness doživetje" in tudi priložnost za raziskovanje lokalne kulture..The sculptorkept his secret for 55 yearsuntil Mrs Jelena Jendrasic revealed the long-kept secret. It was actually her who served as the model for the mysterious statue of the maiden. It took over a year to make the sculpture, for which Mrs Jendrasic posed for hours. She passed away in 2015, but her statue of the Maiden with the Seagull still keeps looking at thedistant open Adriatic sea.

One of the symbols of Opatija here since 1956, a picturesque statue by Zvonko Car, right on main Lungomare promenade, so you will definitely bump into it on your walk next to the sea. Best views are in the evening.

Volosko is a charming Mediterranean neighborhood with a relaxed vibe, offering waterfront cafes and restaurants. It is part of the city of Opatija and can be reached by taking the Lungomare seafront promenade from Opatija. The village features picturesque beaches and small bathing spots along the coastal promenade, including the well-kept Slatina beach in the center.

One of the nicest fishing villages in Croatia. Take the steps and enjoy the small side streets.

Honestly my favorite village on the Croatian coast. It is a tiny, tucked in, fishermans dream. It is a place you would want to rent an apartment for 3 months and write a book. Also the restaurant selection in such a tiny place is insane. Some of the best restaurants in the region are not more than 5 minutes away. on foot. Truely a hidden gem.

A lovely little harbour with a few small restaurants

Small, picturesque coastal town/ fishing village is a part of the city of Opatija. Take Lungomare seafront promenade from Opatija and enjoy this unique experience. Take a cup of coffee on the waterfront and just relax.

Perfect food after a hike around the area and easily the friendliest staff I've ever met! Thank you for making our dinner unforgettable! 🙏

Kind people, good food, spectacular place. The road is in a very bad condition through the forest, be careful and drive slow!

Starting point for one of the best hike trails uphill. Two trails, both ending in city Skrad. On one trail (left one) is a nice waterfall you can see. On other one (longer one), you can visit a cave. Best to go hiking when there is water, since you walk near small Creek. I highly recommend for active vacation.

The road to get there is disaster.Halfway we turned and left.If you want to destroy your vehicle, you definitely have to go down that road.

Mountain hut close to the Zeleni vir spring, waterfall and Vražji Prolaz (Devil's Passage). Available by car, offers food (stw and drinks. Tickets for Zeleni Vir and Vražji Prolaz are 25kn for each, or 10 for children.

Nice mountain hut and starting place for Zeleni vir (15 min) or Vražji prolaz (30 min) if you do not have time to walk all around from Skrad (2.5 h). Decent and favorable menu choice with must-try blueberry štrudla. Good choice for kids because of many walking bridges which gives them motivation to move forward 😀

A perfect spot to enjoy the nature. You can hike, you can grab a bite or you can wash your feet in the freezing river. Don't miss this out if you are in the area.

Speaking of the restaurant because I didn't stay the night in one of the rooms...Although the nature surrounding it is magnificent, therefore the location itself is great, with a small "playground" next to it, the terrace really needs a bit more of attention.A good sweep at least, parts of the terrace look like they weren't used in ages, almost resembling a hounted house. Tables were frequently left as they were left by the guests when they went away, dirty dishes, full ashtrays etc (quite a sight) whit the staff simply walking by it all, making it harder to find a decent spot to sit.Speaking of ashtrays asking for it or not makes apparently no difference as we got non in either cases. The food was ok, the prices are ok, the staff was ok and answered any questions we had.It would have been a 4 out of 5 if it was kept just a little cleaner. Removing weird ?furniture/construction? parts and "leftovers" left in the corners would have helped already 😂P.s. try avoiding a trip to the toilet!! 🤢
